There is an outstanding number of youth who are either aging out of school, dropped out of school, or not promotable to the next grade level he or she lacks credit hours, or have been disconnected from school for two or more years. These youth are in need of getting their high school diploma, as this accomplishment will enable them to become productive citizens, employable residents, and foster safer communities. There are youth who have attempted to return to school and/or get into a GED class, however due to unforeseen circumstances, these youth were unable to complete our traditional programs. Online learning will allow these students to learn at their own pace and get assistance as needed. This has helped them to feel that they are in control of their destiny and achieving their goal of obtaining their high school diploma. CHOICE services young adults ages 17-24; and adults ages 25 and over, in addition to males and females who come from low income families and are at-risk of continuing a life of struggling without having a high school diploma. We want to give our young people, parents, and families an opportunity to obtain a high school diploma, and become employable, while moving onto higher education. Our goal is to increase graduation rates among young people who are dropping out of school. C.H.O.I.C.E. wants to provide an opportunity to reconnect and be successful. We develop an education to career plan that helps our young people see an achievable goal and be successful at completing it, and help develop a Workforce Development Plan that will allow a marketable training skill for our young people to become employable for the working world. |
